Fundraising Events for Green Rico Organization
In an effort to
raise local awareness about our organization
 and
to begin our stated goal of providing educational resources, GRO has
events planned for the winter of 2006. Check back for more details.
GRO is
hoping to organize and host a sustainable living conference in Rico.
This event will bring together organic growers, natural builders,
environmental educators and any other pertinent movers and shakers
in the sustainable living field to learn, share and move the ball
forward. It is our hope that this event will be an annual happening
and a
 focal
point of the Green Rico Organization.
GRO
spearheaded a composting and worm educational program at the
2nd Annual Rico
Peace Garden on September 11th, 2006 This event, drew over
200 people in 2005 and was the perfect opportunity to further inform
the Rico regional community about GRO and to teach children and
adults about how worms and composting work. Please check back for
more details about the event.
The On & On Music
Benefit CD Fundraising Project
The
CD Network, and
Telluride Row,
a sustainable business that links music, art and business in a way so
that “everybody wins” is working
 with
the La Boca Center for Sustainability,
the Tomten
Institute, and Roots in Rico to produce
a cooperative benefit CD called “On and On” to support
the
Wheel of Sustainability. Telluride
Row has been hosting live recordings in Telluride, CO. Contact Megan or Shannon at
